Lac La Biche is located at the intersection of highways 55 & 36, approximately 220 kms northeast of Edmonton.  The Town is nestled along the southeast corner of Lac La Biche Lake, and serves a population more than 10,000 people in an area roughly 7,000 square kilometres. With a population of roughly 2,700, the Town of Lac La Biche is one of the oldest communities in the Province of Alberta. The first recorded history by a European explorer, David Thompson, was in 1798. The community is supported by a variety of industries: forestry, logging, oil, tourism, government services and commercial fishing. As well, there is a well-established business community serving the needs of people in both the rural and urban areas.
